can I put G60 'charger on my GTII?

Post by Junglist »

Was just noseying on the Corrado forum and noticed the G60 is a 1.8 8v engine. Does that mean I could turn mine into a G60 or do I need an injection model? Or is it a completely different type of engine that simply won't work? I like the idea of adding power without an engine swap. Is it do-able?

It would be much more simple to drop a full G60 engine in... can't see a standard 8v lasting long with boost lol IMO :)

Saying that.. it could be done ;)

what's different about a g60 1.8 8valve compared to my 1.8 8 valve?

Pistons, valves, head, block, compressions etc..Oh and then there's the fuel system, and wiring loom.
If you wanted to go do that route best be prepared for work.
There are after market chargers you can in affect bolt on but then you got to think about how long your engine would last with the added oomph...
