brake caliper bolts and fitting kits

Post by GTXTRA »

Fitted some new discs and pads to the GTL today - caliper bolts caused some grief but socket set and mole grip came to rescue when the allen keys weren't up to the task.

Looking at the GSF site - can't access VAGCAT for some reason- i see you can buy just the bolts, 8 x 45mm and 8 x 55mm or what is described as a 'slider kit'. Has anyone bought this and can confirm if it includes the metal and plastic sleeves that the bolts go in or if it also includes the bolts?

Cheers

NOW SORTED - got just the new bolts in the end, the slider kit the website lists for 1.8 carbed Roccos was a different size and had SEAT applications on the label.

i've just got one of these as i also had fun with the bolts, ended up having to cut the rubber bush down, anyhows, VW do a refurb kit (cant just buy a single bush) you set the sliders and bushes for top an bottom, think it was about £10 +VAT, they also still stock the bolts as well about 50p each if i remember (i replaced them all at the same time)
