Steering wobble over 80

Hey all, I know that my mk2 gtii is an "old" car but should I be getting steering wobble over 80mph?
Its not like i take it up there much, but could it be a sign of something wrong in the steering?

Have you had the wheels balanced recently? If the wobble only occurs in a very narrow speed range, this would be a good (and cheap) place to start.

I've also had the driveshafts come loose on several occasions, which can cause similar vibrations.

Sciroccos do hit their resonant speed around there though, so you will feel a slight wobble. Take it 5mph or so faster and resonance will stop. If the wobbling doesn't, something's up.

check wheel bolts are tight. look for any obvious signs of wheel weights that have fallen off or recent tyre/wheel damage

check for play in steering ball joints and lower arm balljoints

I had similar issues at speed when I first got my car... but then realised that I didn't have any spiggot rings

I need to hit 88 mph, how else will the flux capacitor kick in

Thats what the wobble is, did you notice electric pulses shotted down the wings and around the bumper? Was the car frozen outside when you got out?
