Where do I get adjustable n/s track rod?

I'm replacing my o/s track rod as it's rusted fast to the track rod end. While I'm at it I want to swap the non-adjustable n/s one for an adjustable one but it's shorter. Where can I get one? I know they exist because people have done this replacement before.

You need both of these.

No mate, that's the o/s one and you don't need both, the tie rod end comes with it. The n/s one is shorter. That's the part i'm after and can't find.

originaly, the car had 1 fixed and 1 adjustable. as far as i'm aware, you can't buy the fixed one as a replacement part, so you buy the adjustable one and fit it to the 'wrong' side of the car

am i the only one thinking that gsf ain't as good as they used to be?

But they're different lengths so you can't just fit the off side one to the near side, it won't fit.

europrats are listing 1 track rod that fits both sides. surely the reason the fixed one is longer is that there isn't then a balljoint end to screw onto it - it's built in. vagcat isn't working at the moment, so can't look it up on there

It will fit - I think Haynes tells you what the dimensions should be. Screw the track rod end on until you get the right measurement.
