Engine Been Stood, Lost Coolant, Mucky Oil Cap

Left my lovely scirocco in the garage for the past month, now come to check it over, lost half of coolant tank, engine cap gooey... Whats this likely to be?

Could be condensation in the block due to the poor weather, that could be the answer to the oil cap. Give it some new oil along with a filter.
Top up the coolent and inspect while the car is running for any signs of leaks.
Being stood for a month shouldnt result to any engine damage.
