Weber gargling/sploshing - normal?

Post by Junglist »

I had the bonnet open with the engine running the other day and noticed the carb was making a lot of noise splashing the fuel around and glugging/gargling noises. Is that normal or is something wrong? The car seems to be running OK but I can even hear it from inside the car when I'm sitting at the lights. Kind of sounds like a drain or gutter or something.

I'll look into that but it's not been on long. I replaced the last one because it split.

if the car is running right, ignore it so long as there are no extrnal fuel leaks. my weber used to make an odd sclurrrping noise.

if only you knew the truth! i once rewired a fusebox after a small loom fire using only brown and blue cable (3 guesses what that came from!) all worked, but i'd hate to have to trace an electrical fault on the car :hehe:
