Post by Rusty dan »

I am being a frank I think....

Can someone give the bulb numbers needed for my scirocco mk2. My old lamps were sold and my gti lamps did not have bulbs in them..

should be etched or embossed on the lens. It'll be H4 probably and indicator bulbs are pretty much the same on all cars - single contact single filament level pin bayonet. Can't remember the number but i'll check in work tomorrow. I can send you some for free and get you the headlight ones cheap too.

H7 souunds moe likely. Most cars are H4 or H7. H1 and H3 are rarer and I've never known any others on cars. Do you want me to send you a full set of what you need?

Later Mk 2

The dip/main bulb in the outer rectangular headlight is an H4 - 12v,60/55w
Inner square driving headlight is an H3 - 12v,55w

Early Mk 2 with the twin rectangular headlights - same outer bulb - H4, but the inner lamp is an H1, 12v,55w.

Mk 1 round headlights are all H1
