Post by Roccomad78 »

I need a new(WHOLE) distributor for my 91 gt2 rocco (engine 1.8 ex carb) I am finding it hard to track one down with the same part number as mine , vw say that have none , ebay is dry and most of the breakers i ring are too , my question is can other distributor's be used from other vw's mk1 golf jetta ect that have different part number's.

Is it the whole distributor or just the cap and rotor arm? (assuming it's standard plugs and not injection :))

Mine went just before Christmas. The garage I took it to got one for 80 or 90 quid i think from GSF... I would have fitted it myself but it was snowing and my hands had started dying... so it ended up costing a bit more than I wanted. Works a treat now though! :pilot:

I got one from GSF in Glasgow for about £35 last september. It was faulty and on my return he said he had plenty in stock and gave me a replacement. I've also got a 1.8EX.
