i want to buy some really good oil and looked on the halfords website and there come up with the 15/40w etc but for the best there said a couple of 0/40w fully synthetic i would buy this just need to know if thats ok really

mobil 1 0/40w fully synthetic is really good oil. couldn't say if it suits your application though...

you want 10w40 or 15w40 mineral or semi synth. if you engine is a mega miler, go for 20w50 mineral.

0/40w fully synthetic is completely inappropriate for this engine, and usually costs silly money (particularly from hellfrauds, unless you got a trade card)

140k should be nicely run in :) mega miles is gonna be well over 200k.

trick to engine longevity is regular oil changes with the correct oil, not just the most expensive you can find

I wouldn't put something that thin in my car. It'll tend to leak out more, for a start.

Fuchs or Quantum semi synth are fine. Just go with a decent oil in the recommended grade, and change it regularly.

cheers mike yeah i went with mobil 1 super 10/40w thats what i have used since i got the car and change the oil every 5/6000 miles :hugegrin:
