i'd say they have an indefinite shelf life, its mechanical so would only get worn out through actual use..
do I really want a carb'd valver? answers on a postcard...

should be fine so long as they've been kept somewhere dry. if they spend a long time somewhere damp they rust, and the valve inside can stick
