Boot Light / Luggage Light not working

me again .....

my boot light is not working, i've checked the No3 fuse and the bulb and they are both fine.
this leads me to an electrical fault. Aside from a volt meter test, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be ?

Check the earth on the light itself, ie the switch that puts the light on when you open the boot :)

what am i checking ?
i mean i know its the earth.. but what am i to do ?

I would take the wire off the boot switch and touch it to the earth point that is in the middle of the rear panel. But really any screw that goes into the body of the car will probably do.

If the light comes on then taking the switch off and cleaning the contact areas will hopefully sort it.
