Must be one of the oldest.
Thats proper old, mines an Ibiza red Scirocco TS built in Oct '74 and registered 27 11 1974. My other three '75 TS cars are Jan '75 Nepal Orange, April '75 White and August '75 Palma Green all the others are later Scirocco GLS '77 Brasil, '78 White and '80 Silver. Got a couple of years missing to complete the set!!!

hi.
The build date of my car is 30th July 1974, registered on the road, 30th August 1974. It is totally original, unwelded and rust free. Only service parts have been replaced i.e. battery, exhaust, shock absorbers. Owned by one family until a year ago and always been on the road. Could this be the oldest in UK?

So you now own seven Mk1's including Three from 1975 and one from 74.?
What about the ones you said about in the 'a sad sad day topic ' that you were getting soon.
The 74 palma green and the red TS in the pics which you said was originally Yellow.
Are you still getting these ones aswell to make it upto Nine Mk1's?

Do you have any chrome bumpers spare on any of your fleet?
Or are they all being saved.

I now have a '74 TS (red), '75 TS (green), '75 TS (orange), '75 TS (white), '77 GLS (brown), '78 GLS (white) and '80 GLS (silver). Yes 7 in total, none are roadworthy, yet! Looking at another rust bucket soon another '75 TS. Most of them are v.very rotten, apart from my '74 which is in resto and now a solid shell! Bumper wise ive got two nos sets, the others are missings their bumpers or theyve been crashed. Sad but true most of these cars are only good for salvage, they are just too rusty :crying: Still looking for the Stirling Moss rocco!!!! think now its white or silver! '74 or '75!!

Morning!

Define “rusty”?

It would be a shame to think that, owing to people’s different interpretations of “rusty”, they will all go for salvage and or be sacrificed for parts.

My 'X' reg storm was said to be "rusty"...and now it lives on!

Kind regards

Rusty as in, nothing left of areas like inner wings to bulkheads and turrets, retro-fit sunroofs falling in through the roof, bad accident write offs, these cars are rotten. It isnt just one area thats gone its virtually every panel is rotten or damaged, but there is still some useful stuff worth salvaging. The only one being restoredis the '74 and even that needed a roof skin! I run a bodyshop believe me these cars are rotten!
