White letter tyres
Anyone know where I can get some tyres with white lettering? I'm having a few difficulties finding some in the right size (165/60/14 or whatever. I'd rather not have to go higher profile, I want slammage too!)
Alternatively, anyone know if the letters on a tyre can be painted? What would be best to paint it with?

Re: White letter tyres
You can get tyre paint... not sure where though. Never seen any tyres except off-road ones with white lettering these days.

Re: White letter tyres
I think that's the best bet. I've just ordered one of those paint pen things and I'll give it a try on an old set to see how well it works. Then I'll get my steelies painted black and give it a proper go on some spangly new tyres.
Although looking at yours with the non painted steelies, I'm quite liking that!

I was gonna say you can get tyre paint pens, very similar to touch up pens, from most decent autofactors, hellfrieds being one of them.

Re: White letter tyres
i have used the tyreart stuff and it is good. would reccommend using the tyre black first - the white seems to go on better if you do.
interestingly, when i firs posted up that i had done this (sarah had done it for me) everyone said it looked cack. funny how opinions change, innit?

Re: White letter tyres
i originally bought the stuff for doing my truck with, but decided it would be much easier if the tyres weren't on the truck, and they wouldn't take them off just so i could be a tart

Re: White letter tyres
I gave it a test run on my current tyres. I only did one logo on each tyre in case I ran out of paint.

To be honest, the paint seems shit. Just like Tippex. It comes off with a bit or a scratch with my nail. Do I just have crap paint, or is there a certain way to apply it. I just slapped it on really.

hi mate its a bit of a long shot but with my 68 thunderbird (below) i went to north hants tyres - northantstyres.co.uk i think as they do tyres for yank cars which have the white letters - they might be able to help as they do an awfull lot of tyre types and theyre not that expensive either.
best pic i could find as lost my dongle with the good pics on and it was raining that day lol

Re: White letter tyres
Thanks for that. I think I looked at their website when I was searching for white letter tyres. I don't think they stock any in the size I need, although I might try emailing them since they're local (ish).
