And he means LOTS of shiney bits!
I've seen it, and it's a thing of beauty...
(BTW, what was the engine management you mentioned?)

Re: Was there ever a undertray ?
I am thinking of fitting something similar to mine, with sides to catch oil/tranny fluid etc..
Saves on wrecking the drag strip and closing it for an hour if I dump any! I am so considerate lol

Re: Was there ever a undertray ?
Wish I'd had one of those last night. I drove over what I thought was a bit of cardboard and it turned out to be the base of a plastic bollard (still attatched to the gtround) that someone had ripped the top half off previously. I think there's significant damage in between the front wheels. I'm scared to look...

Got away with it! Boy, these Scirocs are tough. It made a hell of a noise when it happened. The car next to me thought I'd hit them! Anyway, ours is not to reason why... just glad there's no expensive repairs needed.
Anyone know if it's possible to buy these under-trays ready to bolt in place? I want one. Surely it'd reduce chassis flex somewhat too.

Re: Was there ever a undertray ?
Just noticed this old posting and in answer to the questions. Lady my 1992 LHD GT2 is fitted with a full under engine cover. The part is original VW, in fact that it is listed on the original specification for that particular car, but it appears it was one of several specials Sciroccos built on the Corrado production line before manufacture of the Corrado started. The only other Scirocco still in existence I know to have this part fitted, is the white Scala in the Wolfsburg museum, however, I have heard that at least one exists in America, several people on the American Scirocco list have referred to it in the past.

Hello,
I think this is the part you all are talking about.

It was an extra in the time the cars were sold and it is indeed very useful to keep the engine bay clean while driving.
It does not give any trouble with overheating.
They are pretty rare but do pop up now and then.
