Temp' sender

Post by koala_plushie »

The temperature gauge doesn't work on my scirocco. I can't work out which sensor reads for the dash though although there is a sensor without any wire going to it though so I figured it's probably that haha. See pic below:

Anyone any ideas? ta

If it's an 8v, it should be the one on the water flange on the front of the head. If that's the end of the head in your picture (hard to tell) then that's the low pressure oil sender.

I'm assuming you mean water temp, not oil temp on the MFA / trip computer.

Yes, the sender without a connector in the very middle of your picture is the WaterTemperature Sender.

I'm guessing that is a 1600 cc.

Which model? Any pics?

Agreed with Pete, the one without a wire on it is the water temp sensor, the sensor in the top of the shot is for oil pressure .

Don't ask me....it was like that when i got here !

Cool, and it's an 84 1800cc on a carb. The layout of some of the cooling bits is a little different to later carbed engines in this. Just need to work out what might have happened to the wire now haha :/
