hello, im going to give my mk2 a little service. ive had it for 4 months. Apart from sparks, brake pads, oil change and filter is there anything else i should be aware of?

The normal service interval is one year or 10k miles - whichever comes first. So anything beyond that is just a bonus and what's necessary will depend on the general condition of your car and how you drive it. Haynes manual gives a pretty comprehensive guide to what ought to be done when - if you don't have one you should easily be able to get one from eBay for around a fiver.
