engine swap, mk2 to mk1

Post by 83mars »

im hoping to be attempting this in the next few days,
just wondering if a mk2 golf engine will fit relatively easy into a mk1 scirocco.
from pics ive seen of the mk1 engines im presuming its just a case of swapping mounts, am i wrong??
cheers for any advice.

if your talking about the golf, i make em out like this:
front middle, rear left(just behind the belts)and rear right(end of the gearbox to the back)
had a quick look monday and looks like ill have a bit of work with the gearbox mount, hoping a mount from a mk2 will do for the t-belt to chassis leg.
mite get a chance to see properly tomorow
