Anyone recomend thease ?

Post by MrD »

Have Koni red adjustables on at the moment (adjustable off car ) My car really holds the road well, but and it`s a big but,i am sick of the way the front end bounces about ! Is this normal ? Slightest bump in the road and it just bounces the front, stays in a straight line, but think it just looks a bit silly !I had the yellow adjustable Koni`s on my mk 1 roc gti,and that didn`t bounce at all, well once when i went over a railway hump bridge at 110 it landed and bounced off the ground again !
So i think i am going to look into some different ones thease look like a middle ground of cheap e bay stuff and expensive Koni yellow, anyone had thease on a roc ,or recomend something that were good around the same money

if they are adjustable, have you tried adjusting them? if it's bouncy then they're not damping enough. either tweek them up a bit (or a lot) or they need replacing/reconditioning. did you buy them new and how long have they been on there?

They were bought from the 4 sale section here, were fitted to car did 0 miles then taken off and sold,so they have done a few hundred miles max,was told they were adjusted half way through range, don`t know if adjusting them up more would solve the issue ,but your prob right i should just try it before shelling out a load more money, the ones i had fitted to my mk 1 were mental, could not push the car down, they were that firm, and that didn`t bounce

Firm them up and they shouldnt bounce. I have adjustable konis on mine, set at their softest and theres no problem. Nearly perfect infact :vcool: Yello ones i think

Smashing cheers :D Would i be right in thinking the only difference between the red and the yellow Koni`s is one is on car adjustable (yellow) and the other one off car adjustable (red) ?
Bloke who fitted them said bring it back in a few weeks and he will put the gauges on and check everything is all ok still, might whip them off myself, and then take it back for him to check.
Got to come off ,then put them in a vice and push down and twist them,so looks fairly straight forward

Backs are yellow, adjust them by taking them off. Though i never touched the setting putting them in. Fronta are inserts so not sure, but adjustable on the car. I just set them to soft and never touched them again.

Though mine were bought second hand and arent the freshest so mite not be from a matching set
