Will a Mk1 Exhaust manifold fit the mk2?

Hi, I'm about to collect a 4 branch exhaust manifold from a mk1 1.8 8v. Will it fit my 86 1.8 8v GTX?

yes it will. I fited a mk1 golf cabrio 8v manifold to my mk2 scirocco gt 8v with no problems. Same patent so its cool!.

if it hasn't got one, fit a flexy joint between the four branch and the centre box, otherwise you WILL end up eventually with a cracked manifold unless you have used mega solid poly engine mounts (which cause rattling everywhere as the engine doesn't move as its meant to on the OEM mounts).

heat shield the steering boot too.
