Electric windows

Post by dozzum »

having a bit of problem sorting the windows on my new gti.

When the passenger window reaches the bottom i can hear the motor still turning if i hold the button down. Then if i press the up button it turns but the window will not raise until i lift the window slightly?

any ideas???

the pikey fix would be to chuck a lump of wood in the bottom of the door to stop the glass dropping quite so far.

what is probably happening is that either something has worn on the mechanism so it can't power the window in that position (as has happened to my passat) or the mechanism is out of adjustment. is it factory fit or aftermarket?
