Strange elecric problem !

Post by cranwellpoacher »

Hi Guys.I have a strange problem with both the radio and the 12v ciggy lighter power supplies.Noticed the stereo did not work the other day, asssumed it was the fuse but it was not (interior light is still working). With meter i am getting 12.4volts without load, but if i put load onto radio or ciggy lighter connections it drops to 4 volts and radio will not work.Have taken centre console out and checked wires, but no obvious breaks.Any idea's ?

Problem now sorted :yup: .I ended up taking the centre console out and could not trace a wire fault up to the point at were the wires vanished !.Ended up running a fly lead from a good 12v positive source to the ciggy lighter and stereo sources.....works fine ! :groove: :yup: .Now have power aplenty, not to mention a 600w inverter stashed under the passenger shelf that powers all my 240v stuff :yup:
