I've been floating around for a while and thought I ought to introduce myself. My name's Andy and I live in Cheltenham, but I'm originally from Nottingham. I've had my Rocco for around 10 years now but she's been off the road for around 4, but she'll be back in a few weeks! I had to go to the dark side of a Diesel Passat for a while as I was commuting 100 miles a day.

I'll try and dig out a few pics, but my Rocco is an '87 GT in Jade Green. Can't say it'd have been my first choice in colour, but she was offered to me after a friend of the family died (only had 33k on her). I'm only her second owner and she's still only got 75k on the clock. I've had more than a few dubs in my time (3 Bugs, 1 Mk1 Golf, 1 Jetta, 2 Passats and still have a Mk2 Golf GTi in the garage at my old folks).

Hi everyone,

I'm Andries from the Netherlands, been visiting this forum for 2 years or so,
more reading than posting...

I've been driving scirocco's for 6-7 years now,

I started out with an '86 GT (1.8 90 BHP)
Image

After that an '86 GTX (112 BHP) was the pearl of the driveway
Image

And then Jolene came along, i posted a build thread on the old forum
I restored in a little less than 3 years, and I own it for 5 years now.

I once had a '79 GLI as a daily driver, but the fuel consumption and the fear that
using the car as a daily would wear the scirocco out. Made me dicide to sell in on
It was a nice drive thoug

And my current project an '82 GT will be modified to be a daily driver.
I will start a build thread when I got the time

Hi, I'm Mark and was briefly registered over on the old boards. Bought my Scirocco in November last year and have tidyed it up a fair bit since, resulting in what you see below. Currently showing 160k on the clock, and was running great until the clutch cable went ping last week :crying: (which is what reminded me to register on here again). Hopefully will be back in action soon!

Hello all fellow rocco owners.

My name is Graham and i am new to this using forums business so please forgive me if i need advice on how to use the forum.I have been a guest on here for some time reading posts but i wanted to get more involved now.

I have been a scirocco nut for around 20 years and have owned many Mk1's and Mk 2's over the years.

I currently have four Mk1 Scirocco's in various states of repair as listed below.
1974 Scirocco TS.
1978 Scirocco GLS
1980 Scirocco Storm
1981 Scirocco GTI.
All need some work to be on the road but i will get there one day when time allows.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and i should be posting more very soon.

Regards Graham

Thankyou all for the warm welcome.

I am from the Isle of Wight and all four of my Mk1 Scirocco's are local cars.

I do also like the mars red mk1 too and the GTI i have is white which also looks good. The storm is brown.

The 1974 TS was registered in Nov 74 and is red.I rescued it from a breaker who was dismanteling it and had already sold the bumpers, headlights, grill and chrome trims. The original seats had also been replaced with black leather storm seats at some point in its life.
I am trying to source the parts to get this one back as it should be.
The shell is actually very solid so it is a shame he started breaking it but at least i got to it in time before he finished.

I will be after some chrome bumpers in the near future if anyone has any.

Thanks for your interest.

Regards Graham
