Currently owned since 1999, however family owned since 1994. Vehicle was taken off road in 2015 as I had a new car as a daily runner and fully intended spending some time cleaning her up. Unfortunately life gets in the way and realistically I don’t have, and likely never will have, the time to do this. I’m therefore looking (hoping) for the car to go to a good home and have a bit of TLC and restoration, this advertisement is with quite a heavy heart…
MOT Expired in 2015, but this wasn’t through failure, just taking off-road. Chassis is solid underneath with no obvious rust beyond a little on some surfaces. Both doors, however show clear and visible signs of rust, I would have liked to replace both doors. The car has aftermarket (self installed) central locking (side doors only) and had a replacement fuel tank not long before coming off road and has had a Weber Carburettor conversion after the Pierburg developed the usual fault.
Driver side window mechanism was very stiff, however there is a replacement regulator in the boot, bought but not fitted. Tested last weekend engine still runs (some slight tapping when cold, but smooth when warm). I wouldn’t chance driving it, however without replacing the rubber hoses, tyres and checking over the brakes as a bare minimum. Car has stood, with minimal movement since 2015, so some electrics will need attention (for example I know the horn isn’t working, but assume just a bit of oxidation on the terminals). Obviously this is intended as a project and will not drive away, so the buyer will need to collect.
Tartan seats had been swapped in for the original white seats, which had deteriorated beyond realistic repair and as is well known are like rocking horse poo!
Car was a Cat D write off around 2005 (I can’t remember the exact date) following rear end collision, but was bought back, fixed and continued to be used as a daily driver until 2015.
