rear spoiler

Post by captainwow15 »

i've just been thinking that my rear spoiler is looking a bit dull and grey, am toying with the idea of changing/reparing it, i kind of think it spoils my red scirocco, was wondering if anyone knew about either changing it to a red one or whether you can clean up and make it darker?
i imagine its quite heavy aswell, is there a lightweight alternative anywhere?

cheers

I presume you have the standard spoiler. To get a lighter version you could try and find an earlier tailgate from an early GTX with the small Zender spoiler on it.

Coloured ones weren't available as standard and would be difficult to achieve to a satisfactory standard due to the porous material.

I found a black trim restorer (the kind you use for getting bumpers black again) did a good job at restoring a deep black finish on the spoiler.

I use Auto Glym Bumper Care. Well worth it. Not shiny, non greasy and soaks into the spoiler so you don't need to re apply it too often. Looks really good.

I use that too and it's the best stuff I've used for bumpers.
