Can anyone tell me where this is and can I access it without stripping the car out ?

What is the problem you are trying to solve? Are there any warning lights showing or trouble codes that you have read? I don't know the answer to your question, but sometimes this contextual information can aid research.

Talking of research, it may be worth a web search on this topic for the Golf Mk5, or any of the other VW group models which share the same PQ35 platform, eg Audi TT Mk2.

I've got code 00141 on scan , which is to do with wheel dampening and comfort control, I've seen the sensors on ebay, just like to know where abouts it is really before randomly pulling the boot out or wheel liner

The parts diagram suggests the sensor is mounted high in the left rear wheel arch. Pictures of used sensors online look pretty rusty, which would suggest a location under the wheel arch rather than inside the body.
