What country was it registered in? The interior alone must be worth the asking price.

this is the history i know.

i have the import documents, reg number form and all mot's since import.

so car was imported in 2004 by a Dutch chap of which i have the export document (thanks Joost for confirming, cant read that foreign stuff). im guessing he brought it over as his personal car.
I have mot docs up to 2009 when it was taken off the road.

The garage i bought it from restores cars for a gentleman that imports cars from japan, this gentleman imported a LHD early GTI which had a really bad dash. The tropic was bought as a dashboard donor, guessing it was the only LHD they could find. The car then sat in their lockup for a year or 2 until sunday when i purchased it. the car is complete except a few headlight clips and a parcel shelf, the old gti LHD dash is also in there but in a really bad state. I do need to go through it all and properly get everything out but it looks to be in pretty good shape.

The car also came with a decent Nardi steering wheel and a free zender x1 front air dam/ splitter which was in their way apparently.

all in all a seems to be a good purchase which im looking forward to doing up anmd taking to some shows/ meets.
