Morning all. In the process of establishing why my Scala pulls like a wet lettuce, I've removed the filler neck, and it's not a pretty sight.
It looks like it's been badly repainted in the past to cover up the rust and hide the poor condition.
I'm going to get it vapour blasted to see the condition underneath, but if its not usable, am I right in thinking a Cabrio neck will fit if it's length going to the tank cut down? And swapping the cap?
Due to Scirocco necks being unobtainable, I'm hoping the cabrio route might work. Alternatively if anyone has a filler neck for sale let me know!

Dreadnought Customs sometimes have primarily stainless steel replicas available a bit cheaper than the OEM originals. However, they are currently out of stock.

There are 3 different models of fillerneck.
1 is for the 40ltr. fuel tank.
1 is for the 55ltr. fuel tank
1 is for the 55ltr. fuel tank with a catalyst under the car.
Thomas from Dreadnought Customs sells all 3 models in a stainless steel version.

Thanks for pointing that out Joost. 533201129C (as linked to above) is for the Mk2 Scirocco with 55 litre fuel tank (roughly 1985 on) without catalyst.Blueshark wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 3:37 pmMake sure you know which one you need.GT_II wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 10:23 pmFor information, it's a bit pricey, but the original Mk2 Scirocco fuel filler neck is is still available as NOS from VW Classic Parts here:daveyheats wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 10:48 am Due to Scirocco necks being unobtainable, I'm hoping the cabrio route might work.
