Hi H, all is well here thanks for both Claire and myself.
My vehicles don't seem to have the best reliability record when abroad, the T4 had to be bump started at the barrier into Bokel's campsite a couple of years ago, by Huw and Charlie I think. Also had to be push started at the ferry port checks by a couple of Dutch policemen on the way home.

Seems I forgot to keep this up to date. Had a few issues over the last 3 years but with a broken collarbone in the summer of 2019 and covid lockdowns over 2020 and 21 the car hasn't had a lot of use.

Had an issue with the indicator LED not working with the indicators on, traced to a broken circuit on the back of the clocks and fixed with a peice of solid core wire.


MOT tester happy.

In 2020 I addressed some longer term niggles like a constant small oil leak from the oil cooler, yet another water leak into the boot and a collapsed engine mount.

Sorce of the water leak was a split wiring boot, the same part is used on T25 vans and was available from Brickwerks website.




Cable routing didn't quite go to plan but works.

On my way home from work around 10.30pm Jan 2021 and hit a badger on a quiet country backroad.


With some cable ties I was able to drive it the short distance home, as nothing critical on the car was damaged. But significant damage to the bodywork and it showed the poor paint prep and resulting rust from the respray 10 years before.





As this isn't the only place where paint is peeling off, the car has also been keyed on the driver's door and rust is appearing around the windscreen and under the filler flap I took it to the nationals to have Keith Wingar take a look, we arranged for it to go to him spring 2022, but sadly that was not to be.

RIP Keith, you are very much missed.

Anymore updates on Jucy? Just wondering how you got on after your badger incident.

Still looking badgered and has been sat on my driveway for the last month with me having the intention of putting it through a mot. It has one booked for tomorrow, so see what happens.

I’ve been a bit distracted with Project Tubbs, my partner’s scirocco, but maybe we’ll have 2 road legal ones soon.

Well, it was a fail for a couple of reasons, a wiper blade fell apart on my way to the test when I used the washers. The other was the tester poking holes in the sills by the beam mount.

It also wouldn’t start on the ramps, inlet boot fell off the manifold. Then it wouldn’t start outside the garage, which needed a lift home and some spares. Still not entirely sure what the problem was as so much had to come apart. But got it home in the end.
