Mk2 Carb flange adapters,Any brands beyond Oe ok?

Post by scirocco_ne »

As the title states, are the febi or any other pattern carb flanges any good?

I was tempted to try a febi from Germany but was warned cheaper parts were prone to failure. Oe prices are ludicrous.

Thanks
Mick

Febi stuff is usually ok, the gasket splits if the bracket on the front of the air box is missing or broken as it adds stain the rubber gasket as the carb wobbles about, so does not matter which one you get if the carb can wobble about.

The cheaper ones should be ok as at the end of the day it’s just a bit of rubber between the inlet manifold and carb.

Just check they fit your car as not sure how many bolt holes you have?

Cheers bud, Ive found some billy ones in the uk for about 15 quid so i may try one. At least i think i did in my last late night ebay hunt haha.

The guy who supplied the weber kit advised genuine and said the pattern parts we terrible. Hopefully billy is good enough spec as a genuine is about 90 quid :?

I do have the front bracket in place as well
