Please can anyone tell me whether this hole is supposed to look the way it does? I'm sure it wasn't there before - looks like something has fallen out / not been replaced by my mechanic.
Extra points if you can tell me what part I need to sort it out!
Thanks guys

It is supposed to be there :) beneath the dirt it is green. The hole would have been used by the dealer back in the day to attach a top dead centre sensor when setting up/tuning the engine.
It can be unscrewed to show the timing marks on the flywheel.
Cheers Blakey - one less thing to worry about! My mechanic has a habit of forgetting to reassemble everything, so I thought I'd better check.
Thanks very much.

Screw out the plastic nut, put the new part under it, put the nut back and then press the cap in the hole.
Quite an important part, it prevent water and oil coming in because the clutch is directly below it.
