proper spec gearbox oil?

Post by type53b »

What exactly is the proper spec gearbox oil for a mk2 with a 020 manual box ? I somehow remember reading somewhere that it has to be GL4 spec and not GL5.??? But typically I can't remember where I saw this.

remember, if it's got tit's or tyre's, sooner or later it's gonna give you trouble.

I believe it's GL4,

I've been using this oil in both my cars for about 2 years now and pleased with the smooth gear change and helped with 2nd gear crunch with a cold gearbox in cold wether.

Showing out of stock at the moment?
2l is plenty for an oil change.
They always seem to have a sale most weekend of up to 50%.

Cheers, I shall try the local factors for something similar, cos there aren't any eurocarparts here in Ireland.
