Which Mk II's were lowered from stock?

Post by DannyH »

Which Mk II's were lowered from stock?

the reason i ask is that my '92 Scala i sits very low at the back, the back springs are original the fronts replacements.

the insurance company i'm with say i can't put 25mm drop springs on but i'm fairly sure they would have been about that originally?

i know that some of the earlier injection models came with a 20 or 25 mm drop as standard but not sure about mine.

anyone know how i can find out?

ta much

Did they? I thought they were all essentially the same height as standard.

Apparently not, i found out when i was going to buy some lowering springs off GSF and was told that they were a 20mm drop on some Roccos and 40mm on others.

i noticed this on others spring sites afterwards.

it may just be that my back springs are very old and tired (bit like myself  )

The GTX is 20mm lower, not sure about any others.

interesting you guys mention this, when i changed my rear springs the old ones were lower but also wound slightly different. thicker at the bottem and thin at the top. theres no record in the very full service history of them being changed?
