The Club at premium events and membership

Post by GTXTRA »

We -Me, Will, Jimmy and Heath - have been discussing a few things this evening.

There's a few events on the calendar that we've elected to offer spots to paid up club members on a first dibs basis.

In 2017 these will be:
Ultimate Dubs - 12th March, Telford - subject to club being accepted
Stanford Hall - 30th April
NEC Classic Motor Show - 10-12th November, Birmingham

As we get stands confirmed with organisers we will alert the members in the first instance by email - with a deadline for applications. If spaces remain we'll post up on the Forum at that stage.

Stanford Hall is always oversubscribed and we adopt a quality/unique appeal approach first at the other two BUT given the small investment we ask people to make to get the mag/starter pack and with other ideas at the planning stage we just felt the need to put this out there.

Having said that - given the personal expense incurred by people who are good enough to appear at the NEC in particular - involves up to three nights in a hotel, fuel, time off work/using annual leave and a refreshments budget................ we'd offer free membership to NEC folk at renewal stage. More of a gesture we appreciate.

Like many other clubs we do rely on the paying members to help us cover the basics such as the banners, stickers, trophies, hosting, subscription to VWOC to secure the public liability cover etc etc and we'd like to be in a position to make more of a visual splash at certain events such as NEC too in future years.

It's all a balance - just a quick scan at the projects threads and - if you're ever on there - the facebook pages illustrates the ever increasing number of REALLY nice cars now being revealed, restored or in use that we would love to see at the events we support.

Membership details can be found http://www.sciroccoregister.co.uk/membership.

Cheers

Not too sure what the question is. But if it's 'can only paid up members go on the stand at the big shows?' Then that seems fair.

Hey Steve,

It's not excluding non-members from future club stands, it's just saying that from now on PRIORITY will be given to club members first

Any remaining space after a set amount of time will then be offered to non-members :)

Will.

Seems fair to me. Paid members support the club financially and so deserve some perks. Some people may choose to support other forums which may mean you miss out on showing the 'best' cars though. It all depends on what you want the shows to achieve. Good fun or showcase the 'best' roccos. I keep meaning to sign up but I keep forgetting! I'm going to do it now....

I've been meaning to sign up for a while now, there's extra incentive for me now, might get a family member who has no idea what to buy me for christmas to pay for it!
