raising the suspension

is there a way to raise the suspension or at least spring position to make better use of shock travel?
im currently on the eibach and bistein combo but often hit the bumpstops.
ive shortened them by an inch but im thinking it would be wiser to raise the suspension by 20mm so instead of a 40mm drop i would only have 20mm drop maybe by putting a spacer/shim under/on top of the spring?
this would also help me getting over the local speedhumps.

if i can get a spare set of top spring cups then maybe i can mod those to do the same thing?

i think you can get spacers or these kinda spring supporters or something. buy coilovers?

ive got coilovers but i still have the too low issue and wont be able to go over the local speed humps.
can you maintain the origenal ride height with coilovers?
or do coilovers not allow the car to drop so much that it scrapes going over bumps?

Oh yeah. Wind them up and it would probably go higher than standard. As long as you still have the helper springs in place.

cool i will have to give that a go, i just thought it would top out on the shockers if you dial it out too much (the opposite of bottoming out on bump stops)

Nah. The weight of the car will sort that out, just no jumping hump back bridges! Make sure you get your tracking redone after adjusting it as it will get throw out.

unfortunately i tried the coilovers and they catch on the inside of the rim. not to mention they`re too low!
i think im going to invest in some bilstein b8s instead seing as their b12 kit is made up of b8s and eibach sport springs which i currently have.
hopefully that will sort things out

actually is it safe to run coil overs without the helper springs?
this would raise the lower cup high enough to clear the wheel and Tyre.

as i understand it the helper spring is only there to keep the spring in place under full extension?
so if i wind the suspension all the way up so the top and bottom cups are touching the main spring i should be ok?
wont be much good for suspension travel i would imagine?

Yes it is fine to run coilovers without the helper springs.
My Corrado doesn't have any helpers, front or back.

You will get the same amount of travel with or without. When they are in and the car is on the ground the helpers will be fully compressed anyway
