Yes, 49,000 genuine miles with stamped service book through to 40k and VOSA MOT history to prove. I thought I had lost this, hence the reason for re-advertising now that I can warrant the mileage (ok, with a more realistic asking price reflecting this!). She is also wearing the original supplying dealers number plates.

Condition is always key to car buying as we all know. So, let me be completely transparent! She isn't a fresh restoration or a concours winner, but she is a great condition original low mileage Scala with minor jobs to do (if you really wanted to get her there) and a huge potential to be a future star (and provide an outstanding return on investment).
Interior
The interior is great condition, only let down by a small piece of fabric wear on the drivers seat bolster - something we all expect! The bolster foam was replaced by me using a donor seat when I bought her. No cracks to the dash and even without the S/H, one look in here and you can tell she hasn't covered many miles! No carpet shrinkage, parcel shelf uncut (although it is missing the right hand side retainer where the two pieces pivot).

No rust in the spare wheel well, still got the paint code stickers. The only addition I have made is to add a bluetooth stereo and an amplified Sub-box.
Exterior
L97A Diamond Silver paintwork with snowflake alloys. During my ownership (and according to the previous owner), this car has been garaged and only used on dry summer days.

The majority of the paintwork is original, so bearing in mind it is now not far off a 30 year old car, there are a some imperfections, scratches and chips. I would urge you to come and look at her in detail so you can see for yourself how picky I am being in my description - there are some small areas of lacquer lift/cracking, and extremely minor rust spots/scabs. To me though, these just highlight her originality.
The one area I would rectify if I wasn't parting company would be the drivers door. I have pictured this below, typical rust in the skin seam caused by a water trap with the body kit. The door also has a slight dent around the rubbing strip line.

She has had some new paint in my ownership as some muppet reversed into her while she was in the care of my chosen garage. Pictures of (minor) damage pre-repair are below. The repairers are a very reputable large bodyshop local to me. I took the opportunity to have the rear bumper resprayed at the same time. This wasn't done through an insurer, the third party settled the bill, hence the receipt for repairs isn't made out in my name.

Underneath
As far as I (and the garage that services her and MOT's her) can tell, there is no evidence of welding and no rust concerns.
Engine and driving
Unmodified save for a stainless steel 4-2-1 branch manifold. I chose this as a replacement for the cracked OEM part as I couldn't find a satisfactory original replacement.
She is still running the original Pieburg carb, but this was rebuilt by the previous owner and has no problems with starting!
The engine runs smooth and pulls all through the rev range (although she can pootle in top from low down the revs). No hesitations or misfires. The gearchange is nice and precise. Brakes aren't as confidence inspiring as modern cars (not like my S3
There was a water leak in one of the hoses, which was why she was in the garage when she got reversed into. This was replaced and no problems now recorded.
The rear box has developed a blow and will need replacing, but this is a £60 cost so minimal!
The MOT is due in June, and the current price reflects that I will accept an offer based on the fact she has a short MOT on her. Last MOT she passed with some advisories, CV gaitors showing signs of wear and brake pipes showing slight corrosion, but as I only have covered around 600 miles in the past year and she hasn't seen a rain cloud, I am confident she would pass if the silencer is replaced.
If I get an MOT on her, I won't consider offers.
Electrics
All working, from heated rear screen to the fog lights and parking brake warning light. At some time she had an alarm fitted (sensors still evident in the cabin) but this must have been removed some time ago. Heater blows on all speeds!
So, that's my Scirocco. An honest appraisal. You probably won't find many original low mileage cars that haven't been lowered and tinkered with. If you wanted to respray her, I think you would have a show winning car. Or just drive her and smile as wide as I have for 2 years.
