sunroof mk2 scirocco

Post by Gem012 »

I'm pretty happy today - I fitted new guide plates to the sunroof and new window deflector arms.

The sunroof is missing a tiny part though which means one part keeps popping out and it doesn't lock in place properly on a tilt - it's a- a circlip!!!

Is it even possible to buy these?!

thanks- sorry for the late response i thought I deleted this post as I felt like an idiot when I found circlips are very common haha.

my sunroof is still not right - the new guide plates do allow it to go forward and back though (which is better than just tilt) - along with new wind deflector arms. if I put it on a tilt it won't come back down properly - the whole thing starts sliding back on a tilt _ not good. I give up now I don't think I'll get perfection on a 28 year old sunroof!

Don't give up it is possible. :-)

On a side note I will probably be breaking my car soon so will have a complete working sunroof mechanism for sale. Only downside is I'm near Glasgow and it would need to be collected.

ah that's a shame you're too far away for me to collect the parts because I need a couple of things. Sorry to hear about your car too!

I'll be coming down from Glasgow in early July and could bring bits down if it's of any use to anyone?

I'm in Todmorden which is near Burnley.

That could probably work out quite well.

I'll be starting to get pictures and dismantling things after volksfling at the end of the month.
