Bonnet Liner - removal of old adhesive

I purchased a new set from Joost late last year, but haven't got round to fitting it yet.
Most of the original adhesive is still stuck on the bonnet. You can piggle-it off, but I can see it being a long job.
Anybody got a top-tip for its removal?

Or, since the new kit is self-adhesive & doesn't weigh much, do I just stick it on top ?

It was a nasty job. After a couple of hours of trying to get it all off (sprays, scraping, rubbing), I settled with about 20% remaining. My liners were not self-adhesive but I would have taken the same approach if they were. I'd suggest taking anything loose off but once you're having to scrape it with a spudger to get it off, stop as I doubt its going to fall off with the weight of a liner.

The best way off removal is as folloows:

|I know it sounds hard and a lot off work but take the bonnet off, works the best in the end, believe me.

Then turn it over on a table with a blanket underneath.

Then soak the old sticky stuff with terpentine and gently scrape of with a plastic spoon or spatshula or whatever you call it.

Will make it a lot easier to remove than hanging yourself above the engine.

When it is all off you clean and dry it very good and replace with the new lining.

If you have a set from me it is self adhesive.

Place the lining nicely in the place it should be, hold it down with one hand, or ask someone, fold it half back, peel off a part of the backing sheet, cut sheet away, let the lining fold back and press into place, lift up the other half, peel the backing sheet of complete and fold the lining into place.
