Heater controls; no illumination?

Noticed my heater panel wasn't lighting up, how easy is it to replace, I assuming, the bulb? Any guides around, although it does look somewhat brittle...

me and mac have replaced our bulbs inside the panel, but they are not really a servicable item.
you have to separate the white from the black plastic CAREFULLY, even so you may break it.
this will allow you to get to the bulb which is located on the inside around the area behind the plug socket.
the bulbs are available from maplins bear with me and i will will find you the link.
the other untried and untested way is to drill out the plug socket and the bulb and insert a new bulb and bulb holder in the space where you drilled.

Mine stopped working and I tried to separate to 2 parts with out success as I marked the plastic and thought I was going to break something so gave up and for the moment feeling where the controls are in the dark!
A job for another day when feeling a bit more brave!

There are 2 versions of this panel. One has replaceable bulb, one is kinda "sealed for life"

if you can carefully drill out the terminal connection in the plastic without doing too much damage you can remove the bulb complete and then fix in a bulb of your choice then fit a new connector and you then have a removable bulb

I have had a similar issue and actually yesterday it was all lit up after having a few months without any illumination, I guess for me it's more of a loose connection somewhere

I managed to find an earlier one with removable bulb and fitted a white LED, much brighter than the old sealed unit ever was.
