I don't think they make such a thing, If the metal is rust free and you paint it you will be ok for a few years but if the metal is rusty and you want to paint over it don't. You will be wasting your time and money as it will look ok for a year tops then the rust will come back even worse, you need to stop the rust by grinding it back to clean metal (a dermal type tool works well) then some Jenolite or simular rust cure used then paint. This will work for a few years depending on how bad the rust is in the beginning and type of paint used but keep an eye on it. Worse case is cut the rust out and replace with new metal.
Please don't use hammerite as I've found it to be no good any more as rust just keeps growing underneath it till it chips off, there is lots of better product out there now.

A good way to cut down on rust spreading is cover it with oil, but it doesn't look good!!

Hi Mark, interesting comment there. I have a small rust issue on my passenger door, I have debated on what to use on it, as it is just coming above the black trim. I was thinking of using Kurust. Have you used that or know how good it is?

It's not really to cover the rust but to paint the boot floor because someone has painted it black before (badly) and it is now flaking off.

Also...just received my new front windscreen seal...just need to work out how to fit it or get someone in.

Anyone have any experience of Epoxy Mastic 121? It has a great write up in Practical Classics (3 year test).

I have some but haven't used it yet. As a preventative measure it, it could do the trick.

So is it a definite no for the plastic Golf mk1 trim in the scirocco mk1 windscreen seal? Has anyone else tried it?

I've just checked my existing metal trim and it is properly mangled :(

I think it was Nate on here suggested the trim made to go on the seam round the roof of original minis might do the trick. Try PMing him or get a short length of the above and try it.
