help!!!!!!!!

Post by japandy »

Pleas any help on my problem, i have a 89 scala. Been running sweet but today went to start and no power at all, 1.5v in the battery. Got a jump and it was fine charging so i know thats not the problem but when i got home i turned the car off and the fuel pump was still running the only way i could stop it is by pulling the fuse out. Any ideas people????

seems as if the wiring is shorting causing a permanent live. check simple things first, ie- pull the relay out and then push it back in .. you could always make your own ignition live cable directly to the wiring on the main pump through a added relay into existing wiring from battery. seems odd that you have permanent live rather than ignition live.

Always worth checking the back of the fuse panel (box) for water ingress as it can short the contacts at the rear. It leaves obvious staining/corrosion.
I thought the relay was switched so you must have a short somewhere to keep it live.
