i have also started cracking on with the engine by putting on a new clutch then mating up the 020 gearbox from the gtx.
Image
however ive still got to change the rocker cover, timing belt and waterpump plus it needs a good service.

what made me laugh was when i jetwashewd the gearbox and the green end plate in the gearbox had a pin sized rust hole in it and decided to leak oil everywhere when i upended the gearbox to clean it.
just as well its gotta come out because i need to change the thrust bearing.

that's the thing i don't like about paint is the waiting, always waiting for things to dry.
im getting quite tempted to detail parts of the engine.
trouble is this is going from a track day car to a blooming all out resto project, i think im starting to care about this car

You should concentrate one thing at a time my friend if you want to do this project properly.

some of the things that have been keeping me busy is i needed a press to put bearings in amongst other things so i decided to build myself a 10 ton press.
i built one years ago but scrap men nicked it out of my garden. luckily i had removed the hydraulics for repair so all i needed to do was make a new frame.

and a few licks of paint and install the hydraulics

and the best bit is it cost me £100 to make

had to kick my backside into gear this week as i flattend my big toe under a fishtank last week and still limping.
i managed dry assemble the rear brakes together so i can make up the rear hard lines which went quite well.
i also got my bug pack rear beam bushes which should make re assembly easier.

i had to laugh because the calipers had a round rubber thing attached with ford logos on it!

i must remember to refit the anti roll bar before i put the hard lines on!

Rear brakes look good, have you made sure you have them the right way around, I have read that you can have problems bleeding the system if the bleed nipple is the wrong way up. (can't remember if they are suppose to face up or down! )

Up, that's the way the air goes.

The rear calipers I bought recently had that exact same Ford rubber! The brackets for the pipe look useful too. Keep chipping away....
