We have not long purchased one these http://www.mattlewisracing.co.uk/produc ... wis_racing Sally is at our mechanics with this part. But will not fit as this is a separate part from the original oil cooler which is were the oil filter is.So what we are thinking is that I need a separate Radiator for this to work or a different from the one I have not long brought VW Heritage. As the original oil cooler runs in with the coolant system.

Many thanks to all who can help on here it is more then appreciated.G Beats.

Sorry geebeats I can't see it either.
But I think your referring to a separate oil cooler radiated?
The vw heritage kit is a good kit and should have everything you need inside.
The only addition i think you might need is an oil thermostat

I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!

That is just a fitting kit for a Mocal oil cooler

To use that you also need...

& If your oil never gets hot...

The kit you have bought fits in the same place as the standard oil cooler. You can't use both though.

You shouldn't need anything other than a good condition standard oil/water cooler on a standard road car. I have an oil/water cooler on my turbo'd engine and it works fine for everyday driving.

It is a DX Engine not EF Engine code.Which on a DX Engine you have a oil cooler above were the oil filter on the DX Engine. As EF Engine has a different Oil Cooler which is totally separate from the oil on this Engine code EF.

First of all..
What exactly are you trying to achieve? And Why?

Secondly...
Never heard of an EF engine code????

Thirdly...
I am aware of the type of oil cooler you have, It attaches between the oil filter and the filter housing and uses the engine coolant to cool the oil, exactly the same as the one on my turbo'd AGU engine.

The kit you linked to doesn't. It uses a small "radiator", like I linked to, and the air that flows over it cools the oil.

You CAN'T fit both.

Unless you are using your car on a track regularly, you don't need the mocal style cooler. You need a good condition standard oil cooler.

My oil cooler is essentially the same as yours, and even with the turbo putting a lot of extra heat into the oil it works fine. the highest I have seen is 120

If you absolutely must use the mocal cooler, you need to buy the radiator & the thermostat upgrade kit. All you get in the kit you linked is the standard sandwich plate, the fitting brackets and the hoses. It will not work without the radiator and is NO use on a road car without the thermostat.

Hope this helps.

Ben.
