Alternator Scirocco Mk2 Gt2

Car flew threw the MOT, got home then the alternator bearing went. Lucky/Unlucky?!

Does anybody know if you can put an alternator from a diesel Golf Mk2/Jetta in a 1.8 petrol Scirocco Mk2 Gt2? I know the amps from the diesel alternator will be higher, which should in theory charge the battery better but are the alternator pulleys different?

I'm hoping not to shell out £100+ if I can help it

yeah should fit straight on but you will have to change over the pulleys.
you can buy bearings of the web they arent expensive.

all the wear items are included, just have to make sure your stator plate diodes are in good nick as they are more expensive.

ive got a spare alternator you can have here for nowt mate if you ever need it, god knows youve helped me out enough!
