While I had the filler neck out I thought I'd give her another go over. A few layers of stonechip and paint.

I had a few of the polished wing bolts left, luckily they were the same size as the filler neck one.

The inner mud guard looked a bit worse for wear, and also the top mount for it had rusted off and hasn't been replaced. So I decided to trim it down so that it only covers the hole in the chassis for the breather/return tubes to go through.

Love my dremel, handy for so many little jobs
Cleaned, old paint taken of with white spirit, degreased and then a couple of coats of Auto Glym Bumper Gel.

When I drove her home there was a bit of steam coming out from under the bonnet, thought I'd better have a look. Started her up and put three litres of water in!! Then I spotted some rusty water....
Thought I'd better strip it out and have a closer look....
One end was totally snapped off.
