Passenger-side Front Quarter-Light Window

Post by DeeJayDready »

Some lovely salt-of-the-earth bastard has decided to smash my passenger side front quarter-light window (presumably with his/her fist or foot as there was no other objects found inside). I have the window bin-bagged and duct-taped - always classy...

I will need to get a replacement window fitted. Does anyone know where I could source one?

Every breakers yard I tried in Belfast had nothing.

The quarters can be awkward to fit :-( . Easiest way to do it is to take out the main panel of glass then pull out the guide rail and rubbers. Then slot in the quater glass

I'm pretty certain I've got a spare one. £20 plus postage and it's yours.
However there is no guarantee it will get to you in one piece if I post it to you.
Send me a PM if your willing to try and I'll double check and sort out a price for postage.

Ben.

Is it clear or tinted?
If bengould cannot help, I have a clear one.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I believe it is a clear window that I am looking for sadly.
Below is a picture of the stamp on the driver-side quarter-light. No mention of tinted seemingly. The model is a 1991 Scirocco (Mk2) GTII, if that sheds any light on it.

So if bengould, PeteGLi or anyone else has a clear one available, in good condition and for a sensible price, I would be interested.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure a GTII would have tinted glass. It will look greenish-blue along the edge if you wind down the window.

If it does not say TINTED on the stamp it is a clear window.

Many thanks Ben.

Whenever suits. I have another car, so it is not urgent.
