Wet Patch

Post by Seejay »

Hi all,

I have a wet patch on the passenger side rear footwell / under the passenger seat. I have checked the door seals and all seems ok. Does anybody have any ideas / tips on what this could be?

I presume it is a leak as it does seem to get worst after rain!

Thanks!

Sunroof drain channels, tail lights, boot lock seal, spoiler mounting holes, gas strut mounting holes, rear window seals/frames, boot seal.
If you park on a kerb or leaning slightly towards the passenger side any leaks will end up there.
Check in and around the boot for any signs of wetness.
Sit inside the car and get someone to run a hose on it and see if you can see any water coming in anywhere.

Ben.

i had this problem reoccur a few times but the leak was from a different place each time.
as allready stated the most likely place for a leak is the placstic membrane is fubarred behind the door cards or the sunroof drains are blocked and thus overflowing into the car.
in the boot the gas strut mountings can leak where they bolt to they car because the rubber grommets underneath them have perished.
all of which is easy to six by eaither buying new seals or just give it a clean out.
here is a website with some usefull tips on how and where theses leaks can be and how to fix them
