I've got a 1990 MK2 Scirocco Scala Injection.
It's got what look like pressure reducing valves on the rear brake lines at the master cylinder, but no separate regulator below the master cylinder on on rear axle.
Might be a daft question but when buying rear wheel cylinders do a need the ones for cars without a brake pressure regulator or with.
Also Euro Car Parts has a few different versions, so if it's without which one would I need?
One says for vehicles without brake-power regulator, the other says For OE number 171 611 051B, Manufacturer Restriction ATE, without pressure regulator.
GSF also list one for vehicles with a brake-power regulator.
Any advice on which one I need would be greatly appreciated as need the car to go and pick them up before I dismantle the brakes.
Cheers
Mike

Re: Which Rear Wheel Cylinder?
I think from Memory the non pressure regulator ones are are shorting in width. Take the drums off and measure them to check.

Re: Which Rear Wheel Cylinder?
You need wheel cylinder for cars with brake pressure regulator - as those are what you have at the master cylinder.

Re: Which Rear Wheel Cylinder?
Thanks for the advice, i don't completely trust Euro Car Parts website as it doesn't bring up one for a car with a pressure regulator when I put my reg in, it's listed the wrong parts before too.
The local VW dealer isn't any better, I lose the will to live every time I ring them as it takes them ages :)
Reason for replacing is that for the MoT it barely passed on the rear brakes. Its got good brake lines and fresh fluid, fully bled. The handbrake was spot on as were the fronts, but the rears struggled to meet the pass level. The shoes are pretty new so thought the wheel cylinders might need checking/changing.

Re: Which Rear Wheel Cylinder?
Could it be that when the new shoes were put on, the springs/levers etc weren't put back properly?

Yeah, think I'm going to strip them down and give everything a once over.
