Can anyone tell me what the maximum rear axle weight on a mk1 is? Can't find a plate on mine

I've got 610KG here. Disclaimer - info from a photo of a vin plate in my mk1 golf/scirocco haynes manual as strangely it doesn't list axle weights in the general dimensions, weights and capacities section.


Scirocco GTII 2L 16V
Mk2 Golf Gti 8v
T4 Transporter 2.4D LWB

That's good enough for what I want. Or rather, it isn't! Was hoping it would take a ton. Ah well, back to the drawing board...

Want to mount a stationary engine and cast iron saw bench on a trailer. I have a spare mk1 rear beam, a welder and a pile of box section. You can see where this idea was going...
