Headlights not working

Post by unknownmale »

Sidelights work fine, but when I switch to dipped, nothing.

Full beams work when held on, I'm guessing these are no longer locking on because the main lights are not working.

I've tried switching out switch, the relays but still no power.

Any ideas of what to check next?

Does your heater fan still work? I've had a couple of ignition switches burn out contacts in the past and the lights, heater fan and heated rear window all failed at the same time, there may be other things on that circuit as well, but I can't remember as it was several years ago.

Yeah, fan works...It had a dodgy bearing so replaced it around the time the headlights stopped working actually...What should I look for here?

Basically if the electrics that only come on with the ignition switched on are faulty it's probably the switch.

Thanks for the replies! Just tested and everything else is working with the ignition switched on, heater fan, heated window etc. So I guess that rules the ignition switch out?

Ok, turns out it was the connector which goes into the back to the switch, all looked goo but there was a loose spade connector
