Removal of bumpers.

Post by DougWomble »

Quick question - I've heard removing bumpers is a doddle, or it's a major pain in the @rse. Anyone had any experiences either way, and are there any things to watch out for?

I need to give them a bit of tlc, and what with my car having taken a shunt to opposite corners some time in the past, I'm looking at straightening out the body work as a minor cosmetic thing.

Ta!

Edited to add...

P.S. I have had a read back as far as 2010 on here, and it doesn't seem easy for the front bumper. Hopefully the rear one is easier to remove, as the four nuts are more easily accessible...?
I've had a look here, for example viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11956&p=111528&hil ... val#p85521

Removing the bumpers is an easy job, there are only 4 bolts for both the front and rear.
Just remove the bolts and slide out.
If you have front fogs then obviously disconnect first.

They're both easy to remove and replace. Removing the plastic covers from the irons is another matter entirely.
